ALLA PRIMA CHALLENGE 2026
3d Edition
Build Painting Confidence in Just 4 Weeks.
An immersive online learning experience designed and taught by renowned painter and educator Arthur Gain.
05 October - 31 October 2026
Welcome to totally new curriculum, a fresh approach, and a deeper dive into expressive alla prima painting! 🎨This season we embrace the color and light as well as juicy painterly edges and “happy accidents”.
We’ll build on everything we’ve learned before while introducing new creative methods, tools, and ways of seeing and painting. Specifically designed short practice efforts as well as theory of oil painting in daily uploads each week from Monday to Thursday.
And as before, to crown the week’s effort, Saturday sessions with live models:
male and female portrait studies (Oct 10 and Oct 17)
figure study (Oct 24)
special narrative setup to bring it all together (Oct 31)
Some of daily demos and assignments will be offered in two versions—Basic and Advanced—so you can work at your own level or push yourself into a deeper immersion in the method.
Expect new tools, more colors, more experimentation, and much more fun! :)
Enjoy every stage of it.
